RTW Offers Trade-In on Non-CALM Act-Compliant Meters

Metering manufacturer RTW is offering a trade-in/trade-up rebate program to U.S. customers. The rebate is valid for RTW loudness-metering products purchased between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30.

According to Director of Sales and Operations Christopher Spahr, customers can purchase one or more of several CALM-compliant TouchMonitor audio meters and SurroundControl products and send back their older, non-compliant units, and RTW will issue them a rebate check.

Intended to ensure compliance with the CALM Act, the program is available to all broadcast and content creators currently operating without the proper loudness-measurement tools. To receive a rebate, customers must trade in an equal number of working audio-metering products, including non-RTW brands. The amount of the rebate depends on the unit purchased: from $100 for a TM3 loudness meter to $1,500 for a 31960SD surround-sound monitoring controller. Redemption requires the old meter, a sales receipt for the new RTW product, and a completed rebate form available here or by calling 877-938-7221.
