FUJINON HD Lenses Acquired by Several Universities to Improve In-Stadium Fan Experience

In an attempt to greatly improve their fans’ in-stadium experience, several colleges recently upgraded their acquisition equipment — each with multiple FUJINON lenses. The University of Iowa, University of Illinois, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Washington all have new HD lenses capturing live play for display on large-screen HD monitors.

“Extremely high-resolution HD video is an ideal way for schools to ensure attendees enjoy an optimal game experience,” says Thom Calabro, director of marketing and product development for the Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “Substandard video on the big board doesn’t cut it anymore. Sports fans are used to being able to clearly see the red stitches spinning on a baseball. They expect that same clarity regardless of the screen they’re watching. With more ways than ever to watch a sporting event, colleges have found investing in high-quality video equipment produces a great ROI.”

The University of Iowa in Iowa City added one XA66x9.3 HD field lens, two HA18x7.6 Premier Series ENG-Style lenses, and one HA23x7.6 Premier Series HD zooms to its in-stadium equipment arsenal.  The University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign recently installed two XA50x9.5 telephoto lenses and four ZA22x7.6 Select Series ENG-Style telephoto lenses for game use at its Memorial Stadium. Northern Illinois University in DeKalb is now using two XA50x9.5 and two ZA22x7.6 lenses for video displays in Huskie Stadium. The University of Washington in Seattle added one XA50x9.5, one XA77x9.5 telephoto field lens and one HA18x7.6 Premier Series ENG-Style HD lens to its game day equipment package at Husky Stadium.

Also, Salt Lake City Community College recently upgraded its studio equipment to include three XA22x7 compact studio lenses.
