Piksel’s Digital Stadium Enables Sports Properties To Manage, Monetize Content
Story Highlights
The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Piksel as a corporate sponsor. Headquartered in New York City, the company helps brands maximize their reach and return with video.
At last month’s National Associated of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Conference, Piksel launched its Digital Stadium solution for college and high school sports properties. A complete rights-to-revenue ecosystem, Digital Stadium enables sports properties to harness the power of the Internet and connected devices to reach a wider fan base and create revenue opportunities from subscription and advertising.
“The Internet is second only to television for watching sports,” says Chief Commercial Officer Kevin Joyce. “In fact, almost one in four sports fans watch sports online via an Internet-enabled mobile device. And this trend continues to grow. With a Digital Stadium eco-system, you have the tools you need to manage and monetize your game content, as well as open up opportunities for sponsorship. Not to mention creating a means to get your games on the most important screen there is for sporting content: the TV set in people’s living rooms.”
With Piksel Digital Stadium, users can reduce the complexity of delivering live sports events by deploying broadcast-quality content without adding new technology, maximize reach with a well plotted digital strategy, extract value from assets by retaining total control of content rights, and more.
Piksel Digital Stadium comprises these key components:
Connected TV. Enables user to bypass the broadcast networks and reach the lounge room directly with Roku apps to deliver live-streamed and on-demand content via user’s branded television channel.
Website. Creates an official athletic site (OAS) integrated with videos of live games, upcoming game schedules, social sharing, stats, standings, rankings, and more.
Mobile Apps. Leverage native and branded apps with live video streaming, an integrated Twitter feed, and any information from the user’s responsive Website (both iOS and Android).
Digital Signage. Delivers content to a captive audience through TV screens on campus or in the stadium, controlled from a single interface. Displays HD-quality videos (live and video-on-demand), advertising and promotion for upcoming games and events, and up-to-the-minute data feeds of news, weather, and social media.
Comprising a global team of experts the company calls “televisionaries,” Piksel has helped design, build, and manage online video services for media companies — ESPN UK, Elite Boxing, AT&T, BSkyB, Mediaset, Sky Deutschland — and enterprise brands —Airbus, Barnes & Noble, Volkswagen.
