Louisville company's new app is like a 'TV studio in your pocket'

BizJournals.com reports that a new app takes the wires and cost out of multi-camera live streaming, bringing it to the fingertips of Apple users.

Switcher Studio, which launched Monday, is an app from SilverSunn LLC that offers live multi-camera streaming. It’s like a “TV studio in your pocket,” said Nick Mattingly, co-founder and CEO of SilverSunn, a video hosting and streaming provider.

Four Apple devices can stream video to one main source, usually an iPad, where its screen displays the four video streams, including that of the iPad. The user can direct the video by tapping screens to choose a camera angle or to add logos or photos to the display as the video is playing.

Mattingly sees his product being used in a variety of situations — for media covering the news, in education or for recording high school sports. It’s for “anybody that is a content creator and has a community built around that,” he said.
