Turner Sports Ups Mark Johnson to SVP of Digital

Mark Johnson has been elevated to SVP of Digital, Turner Sports. In his new role, Johnson will lead the strategic direction, product management and technical operations for the digital portfolio within NBA Digital and its suite of products including NBA.com, the league’s 30 team sites, NBA Game Time App, NBA LEAGUE PASS and WNBA.com. He will work closely with Albert “Scooter” Vertino, who will continue in his role as SVP of programming, Turner Sports, and SVP/GM of NBA Digital, responsible for content, NBA TV and business operations. Johnson will also continue to oversee NCAA March Madness Live, NCAA.com, PGA Championship Live and PGA.com.

Since joining Turner Sports in 2008, Johnson has established a proven track record of growing digital products and businesses. Most recently serving as Vice President of Business Operations, he has guided the NCAA March Madness Live suite of digital offerings to two straight years of unprecedented growth. This year, NCAA March Madness delivered a record-setting 80 million live video streams and nearly 18 million live hours of video consumption, also a new record. The live video streams are up 17%, with live hours of video consumption up 19% over 2014.

Johnson will continue to report to Matt Hong, EVP/GM, Turner Sports.
