NBC Sports Digital To Live Stream PBC on NBC Weigh-Ins via Meerkat

For the first time ever, NBC Sports Digital will use Meerkat, a mobile application that allows users to stream live video via Twitter, to live stream the weigh-ins for this weekend’s Premier Boxing Champions on NBC card. On Friday, April 10 the @NBCSports Twitter handle will broadcast undefeated Danny “Swift” Garcia (29-0, 17 KOs), Lamont Peterson (33-2-1, 17 KOs), middleweight titleholder “Irish” Andy Lee (34-2, 24 KOs), and undefeated Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (31-0, 22 KOs) as they weigh-in before their primetime NBC debuts on Saturday, April 11, at 8:30 p.m. ET, from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Saturday’s fight marks the PBC on NBC Big Apple debut and will feature native New Yorkers Marv Albert, Al Michaels, and Bob Costas working together for the first time ever (Albert and Michaels are from Brooklyn, Costas from Commack, Long Island). Costas presents a feature on the history of boxing in New York. Michaels hosts the broadcast. Albert calls the fights alongside analyst “Sugar” Ray Leonard, the six-time world champion and 1976 Olympic gold medalist. B.J. Flores serves as corner analyst, with Kenny Rice reporting ring-side. Chris Mannix serves as a reporter on Saturday night’s live NBCSN 11 p.m. ET coverage, immediately following the NBC primetime show.
