Fox Sports’ Crowd-Sourced Doc 100,000 Cameras Chronicles Talladega Race Weekend

Cellphones have become an integral part of sports viewing, as fans both in-person and watching afar chronicle and share their experience across social media. To capture the NASCAR experience from all perspectives, FOX Sports 1 and NASCAR Productions present the second installment of the cutting-edge documentary series 100,000 CAMERAS, scheduled to premiere Thursday, May 14 (9:30 PM ET) as part of 10 DAYS OF THUNDER on FOX Sports 1.

This time, 100,000 CAMERAS sets its sights on NASCAR’s wildest track — Talladega Superspeedway — on Sunday, May 3. 100,000 CAMERAS: TALLADEGA weaves together fan and driver-generated video to tell the story of Talladega from every conceivable angle, regardless of location. The crowd-sourced documentary captures the ‘life in a day of NASCAR’ and how the sport connects people and communities at the track and around the world. The popular original installment of 100,000 CAMERAS on FOX Sports 1 covered the 2014 NASCAR SPRINT ALL-STAR RACE.

Fans everywhere are invited to tell their own Talladega story by using cameras and smart/mobile devices to capture the race, as well as the hours preceding and following it, whether from the grandstands, on a road trip to the track, tailgating, watching from home or from a neighborhood bar. Using the hashtags #100KCams and #NASCAR, fans simply upload videos to their social media accounts (Instagram, Twitter, Vine, Facebook, or Snapchat) during or immediately following the race.

The following NASCAR drivers and personalities already have agreed to participate: Jeff Gordon, AJ Allmendinger, Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr., Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Kevin Harvick, Kyle & Samantha Busch, Clint Bowyer, Ty Dillon, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski, Greg Biffle, Brendan Gaughan, Michael Waltrip & the Michael Waltrip Racing pit crews.

The 30-minute, high-energy special also features additional and specialty camera angles and content not seen in the live FOX telecast of the GEICO 500 (Sunday, May 3 at 1:00 PM ET), as well as driver wires and team radio scanner sounds. Fans shooting video using a cell phone are encouraged to shoot horizontally for best results.
