Seen on Screen: ESPN Announces Launch of ‘SportsCenter:AM’; MLB Network To Premiere Dusty Baker Special

ESPN announced the launch of their new morning edition of SportsCenter, titled SportsCenter:AM, beginning on a regular basis on Monday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 a.m. ET. The format on SportsCenter:AM will include two additional live hours from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. ET, meant to serve sports fans as they go about their early morning routine. Starting earlier than a live SportsCenter ever has, SportsCenter:AM understands the demands and time restrictions of morning viewers. The three-hour show, as a result, will present a greater emphasis on highlights and video at a faster pace. The first hour will consist of highlights from the previous night, before transitioning in the second hour of top plays and the third hour of previews for the upcoming day in sports. SportsCenter:AM will be anchored by Jay Harris, Kevin Negandhi, and Jaymee Sire, alongside contributor Sarina Morales…

… As Washington Nationals manager Dusty Baker prepares for his first season in the nation’s capital, MLB Network will premiere Dusty: A Baseball Journey, the latest edition of MLB Network Presents, premiering Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET. In the one-hour program hosted by Bob Costas, Baker reviews his childhood as the oldest of five children, the difficulties of attending an all-white high school in Sacramento County, and his path to achieving a successful baseball career. Hall of Famers Hank Aaron and Tommy Lasorda, plus former All-Star teammate Steve Garney join the program to discuss Baker’s baseball life and his passion to win a World Series title as a manager…

…For the first time, Sports Illustrated is teaming up with IMG and TNT for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2016 Revealed — a broadcast event to unveil the magazine’s 2016 swimsuit cover model. Actor, comedian, and recording artist Nick Cannon, and The Librarians star and Skin Wars host Rebecca Romijn, are set to lead the festivities. The event will celebrate the women in this year’s Sports Illustrated edition, including Nina Agdal, Irina Shayk, Chrissy Teigen, Gigi Hadid, and more. In addition, Elle Macpherson will be honored with the Jule Campbell Award, in recognition of her modeling career and record-setting five Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers. Sports Illustrated 2016 Revealed is set to air Saturday, February 13 at 10:30 p.m. ET, during NBA All-Star Weekend on TNT, following the network’s coverage of State Farm NBA All-Star Saturday Night…

…On May 7, WBC, Ring Magazine and Lineal Middleweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez will make his first title defense of 2016 against former two-time world champion Amir “King” Khan. The match-up of two of the biggest stars in boxing will be sponsored exclusively by Golden Boy Promotions and produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View. Information regarding the venue, ticket availability, and a press tour for the fight will be announced in the coming weeks.
