SMPTE 2016: EVS To Highlight Virtualization, IP Production

EVS will showcase innovation that leverages IP for live production and content at the 2016 SMPTE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition, held October 25-27 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA.

At booth 9 in Centennial Hall, EVS will demonstrate virtualization innovations that are enabling a new way of thinking and new ways of handling complex video workflows. EVS’ “Elastic Production” solutions leverage COTS hardware, maximize existing investments, and deploy open standards supported by AIMS and SMPTE.

There will also be a demo of DYVI, the live production switcher chosen by renowned Hollywood film director Francis Ford Coppola for use on his recent live cinema project Distant Vision.

Coppola called the DYVI “revolutionary,” using the tool to cut together feeds in real time from 40 cameras, which captured the live production-film hybrid. DYVI’s dynamic multiviewer and control panel assignment allowed for drastically reduced set-up times and simplified the overall production process.
