NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s Closing Keynote Conversation put an exclamation point on what was a star-studded and insightful two days of mainstage panels at the SVG Summit. Panel discussions and case studies on both days featured top execs from AT&T Entertainment Group, Big Ten Network, CBS Sports, ESPN, Facebook, Fox Sports, HBO Sports, MLB Network, NASCAR, NBA, NBC Sports Group, the New York Giants, Pac-12 Networks, Spectrum Sports, and Turner Sports, as well as mobile-production leaders from CTV Outside Broadcast, Dome Productions, F&F Productions, Game Creek Video, Mobile TV Group, and NEP Group. AUDIO: Remote Engineering Workshop

A Monday morning staple at the SVG Summit, the Remote Engineering Workshop offered attendees a chance to do a deeper dive into some of the hot topics and issues related to remote-production vehicle design, engineering, and operations. This year’s Workshop featured one of the highlights of the annual SVG calendar: The “2017 Forecast for the Broadcast Business” presented by Devoncroft Principal Analyst Joshua Stinehour. In addition, CAT Entertainment Services presented on its new portable Compound Power Command Center; and Aveco, Evertz, EVS, and Lawo discussed “Hardware Virtualization and Why It Could Change Everything.” Rounding out the Workshop was an update on the latest legislation out of Washington D.C. in regards to mobile units and how the 2016 Election will impact the transporting of sports-video equipment.

AUDIO: Sports Asset Management & Storage Workshop

On Day 1 of the SVG Summit, the Sports Asset Management & Storage (SAMS) Workshop once again provided a deeper dive into many of the most pressing issues facing the sports-production industry today. Featuring top execs from MLB Network, NASCAR, NBA, NFL, NHL, Viacom, WWE, and more, the Workshop tackled a wide range of topics, including the promise and challenges of object storage, VR’s impact on MAM operations, using social media analysis to enrich your metadata, and planning for proxy support for next-gen content.
