Live From Super Bowl LI: VER Plays Key Roles for Fox Sports, NFL Network

The rental company is responsible for equipment serving as a hub for distribution

VER is onsite at Super Bowl LI in a crucial role, overseeing a central equipment room centered on a Grass Valley Nvision 288×576 router that serves as a central hub for signal distribution. “All of the cameras come in here for the pregame and game and then out to the trucks,” says Bruno Brunelle, systems designer, VER, adding, “We also handle halftime transmission.”

The FATS (Feed All Trucks Signals) cabin features Evertz multiviewers that feed the network transmission cabin located next door, the Nvision router, Cobalt frame syncs, Lawo Pro8 video processors, and more.

VER also provided flypack facilities to the NFL Network for use at Discovery Green Park. There, VER provided an Evertz EQX 28×824 router, as well as three Calrec Artemis audio consoles and video monitoring for quality control. And the Fox Sports VR production featured VER’s EVS XT4K servers and Harmonic MediaGrid storage.

“There were two of us at the stadium and nine guys working double shifts at the convention center for the NFL Network because they had a lot of programming,” adds Brunelle.
