The networks produce over 500 live events annually plus the weekly behind-the-scenes documentary franchise Backstage, live daily studio programs such as Access SportsNet, and other original programming. The networks garnered 26 team and individual LA area Emmy awards in their first four years. Meyers also received Emmys for his work at the RSN in San Francisco and a national Emmy for his work covering the 1988 Seoul Olympics for NBC.
Previously, Meyers spent nine years at the Tennis Channel as the senior vice president of production and the executive producer. In that role he was responsible for the channel’s original programming, as well as national and international live events. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Fox, working in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Meyers began his career in sports television in the 1980s working in TV trucks producing and directing regional and national live sports event programming. Over the years, he transitioned to a production executive. Meyers is originally from Oakland, CA and graduated from UCLA. He lives in Los Angeles and is married with two daughters.

The RSN Summit is designed to meet the needs of today’s regional sports network leaders and content creators. Networks are being challenged to deliver more events and original content, including high school and college, at historically low costs that may be distributed outside of the traditional linear model. Keynotes, panels and – this year – targeted workshops will cover a range of essential topics from UHD/HDR implementation to innovations in operations, graphics, analysis tools, ad sales, and low-cost production techniques. SVG will kick off the RSN Summit with an afternoon workshop and opening-night reception on Tuesday, June 27 at the Hilton Chicago, followed by the full-day event on June 28.
The full SVG RSN Summit program will be announced and registration will open in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to Sportsvideo.org/event/2017-rsn-summit for more info.
