APM Sports, 4th Floor Creative Partner on Promotional Reel

In May 2014, Matthew Gutknecht, the Senior Account Director for Sports Entertainment at APM Music, met with Tom Gelehrter and Shane Harrison of the University of Cincinnati during the Sports Video Group’s College Sports Summit, hosted in Atlanta. A strong bond grew from that meeting between APM Sports and the Bearcats, which opened relationships with FC Cincinnati, the American Athletic Conference, and now 4th Floor Creative, who recently created a new promotional reel for APM Sports.

“The first time Matt introduced us to the APM Sports music library, I knew it was a game changer with regard to our productions,” says Gelehrter. “I was thrilled when we were able to bring APM on at UC and love that we regularly work with their library through our relationships with FC Cincinnati and the American.”

Since the initial College Summit meeting, the two companies continued discussions that eventually led to the idea of a new APM Sports reel. It became clear that the bond was taking on a new form as APM Music shifted from working with 4th Floor Creative in a vendor role to a client role.

Gutknecht says, “I was impressed with the work that 4th Floor was doing and it seemed like a perfect fit to have them create our reel, but we supply music for so many amazing videos that the toughest part was condensing it down to ensure the reel wasn’t 10 minutes long! We’re super proud of the reel and the way it showcases APM Sports, who we’re working with, and what’s possible with our resources.”
