Poker Central, DOUPAI.TV Ink Streaming Deal for World Series of Poke in China

Poker Central and DOUPAI.TV agreed to a multi-year licensing deal to live stream and televise coverage of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in China. The deal, which runs through 2021, will include live broadcasting of the WSOP Main Event final table and highlight episodes of the WSOP Main Event beginning in Q4 of each year.

The WSOP programming will be available exclusively on the media entertainment platforms, DOUPAI.TV and its associated partners, to viewers in Greater China, which includes Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. China now joins more than 160 countries where viewers can watch the thrilling poker action at the WSOP Main Event.

“Poker Central is committed to working with leading entertainment companies to deliver poker programming to every corner of the world,” said Joe Kakaty, president of Poker Central. “DOUPAI.TV shares our passion for poker and allows us to reach the untapped poker audience in China to spread the game and usher in a new generation of poker fans.”

“Our audience loves the combination of high stakes poker and unbelievable action that the World Series of Poker provides,” said Tim Chen, CEO of DOUPAI.TV. “The licensing agreement with Poker Central will make it easier than ever for fans in China to view the exhilarating WSOP action that continues to captivate the poker world.”

Poker Central originally acquired the global television and digital media rights to the WSOP in a four-year deal in May. In addition to the rights deal, PokerCentral reached an agreement with ESPN to expand WSOP programming on the network to include live event coverage and original episodes throughout the year.
