TVU Networks’ Timelock Technology Receives Product Innovation Award
Story Highlights
TVU Networks has received NewBay’s Product Innovation Award from TV Technology. TVU Networks has been honored with an award for its new TVU Timelock technology – which enables multiple TVU Transmitters to synchronize together at a set latency, allowing mobile and wireless at-home/REMI productions without being tethered. With TVU Timelock, broadcasters are able to do more live video production at a fraction of the cost of traditional on-location multi-camera production, which typically requires much more equipment and personnel.
TVU Networks introduced TVU Timelock for the first time at the NAB Show New York in October. The technology was unveiled as part of the company’s commitment to expanding its at-home/REMI remote production solution offerings. With it, multiple camera crews can roam throughout a production area covering live events and transmit using TVU mobile cellular transmitters like its TVU One to standard TVU Transceivers, which output synchronized SDI or IP outputs. TVU TimeLock enables entire remote events to be produced from a control room in a separate location. The solution joins TVU RPS in the company’s remote production solution offerings.
“TVU Networks is honored to receive this NewBay Media award,” says Paul Shen, CEO, TVU Networks. “We’re proud of the solutions that we’ve brought to market this year, and it’s nice to have TV Technology recognize TVU Timelock as a new innovative solution in the industry.”
Now celebrating its fifth anniversary, NewBay’s Product Innovation Award recognizes excellence in manufacturing of products to serve the TV/pro video and radio/online audio industries. Winners are selected by a panel of professional users and evaluation criteria include innovation of concept and design, creative use of technology, price value, and suitability for use in a broadcast TV/pro video or broadcast/online radio environment.
