Whether you missed out on attending the SVG Summit last month in New York City or you just want to relive the jam-packed two days of informational sessions, SVG has you covered with full video recaps of all the mainstage sessions and audio recaps from the Day 1 Workshops. Video of all mainstage sessions, including John Skipper’s closing Keynote Conversation with SVG’s Ken Kerschbaumer (Skipper’s final public appearance before resigning as president of ESPN), are now available on SVG OnDemand, and audio of workshops focusing on IP Remote Production, Sports Asset Management & Storage Workshops, and Cloud: Production & MAM Workflows are now available via SoundCloud. Audio from the co-located SVG Digital Summit and NewsTech Forum is also available on SoundCloud.

Then-ESPN President John Skipper’s Closing Keynote Conversation put an exclamation point on what was a star-studded and insightful two days of panels at the SVG Summit. Panel discussions on Day 1 focused on technology trends, and Day 2 featured State of the Game panels focused on the content-production ecosystem of the MLB, NBA, NFL, and esports. In addition, Day 2 boasted keynote conversations focusing on Fox Sports FIFA World Cup efforts, as well as AT&T Entertainment Group and Dome Productions’ 4K HDR production efforts.

The SVG Digital Summit addressed key, industry-altering topics including live streaming, over-the-top distribution, live social video, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and much more. Take a listen back to these sessions that feature high-level speakers from major brands in the space.

The IP Remote Production Workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the state of developments related to the SMPTE ST 2110 standards that promises to revolutionize the industry.
AUDIO: Sports Asset Management & Storage Workshop
On Day 1 of the SVG Summit, the Sports Asset Management & Storage (SAMS) Workshop once again provided a deep dive into many of the most pressing issues facing the sports-production industry today. Featuring a keynote presentation by NFL Films as well as panel appearances by top execs from MLB Network, NASCAR, NBA, NHL, WWE, and others, the Workshop tackled a wide range of topics, including Building an ROI Analysis, Virtualization and SaaS, Analyzing Usage and OS Data To Create More-Efficient Systems, Where Are We Going With Storage?, and Cybersecurity. MLB Network and CBS Sports also presented in-depth case studies on their respective MAM workflows.
AUDIO: Cloud Workshop — Production & MAM Workflows
For the third consecutive year, the SVG Summit featured a Cloud Workshop, which focused on cloud-based production and media-asset–management workflows currently being deployed by sports-production organizations. This seminar featured a trio of case studies from NASCAR Productions, NBC Sports/Olympics, and WTA Media, as well as a panel addressing Best Practices in the Cloud.
