Amazon: The 11 NFL Games It Streamed This Season Reached 18.4 Million Viewers

The numbers eclipse Twitter’s results from the season prior

According to numbers made available by Amazon Sports late last week, Amazon Prime Video’s live streams of 11 NFL games this season reached 18.4 million total viewers in 224 countries and territories.

Data also showed that the average-minute audience (AMA) watching NFL games on Prime Video for at least 30 seconds was more than 310,000 — 17% larger than Twitter’s last season — and those viewers watched an average of 63 minutes.

All in all, more than 750 million minutes of live NFL coverage was watched on Prime Video this season, which equates to 12.5 million hours.

The most successful game for Amazon Prime Video proved to be the Dec. 7 Thursday-night matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints, which attracted approximately 2 million live viewers.

Live streaming was most popular — on a per capita basis — in Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, D.C. Internationally, Mexico topped the list, with more watching the NFL on Prime Video than in any other country, followed by Germany, South Korea, Brazil, the UK, and Japan.
