Opening Day 2018 Is Most Digitally Consumed Day In MLB History

Last week’s Opening Day was the most digitally consumed opening day in MLB history.
According to MLB.com, this year’s opening day digital consumption across all platforms was up 26% from last year’s opening day. MLB’s At Bat app also set a time spent record on opening day, with 101.4 million minutes consumed in the app. MLB.tv also set a single-day viewership record by being up 32 percent from 2017.
Fan video consumption was up 19 from last year and over 60% of all MLB Opening Day video content was watched across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
MLB’s Ballpark app also set an opening day record, with fan usage up 34% from last year.
