Dome Productions Broadcasts 500th Game In 4K

Dome Productions continues to lead the charge in North American 4K sports and entertainment broadcasting, surpassing 500 4K live broadcasts, including broadcasts produced in 4K HDR with HLG and S Log3 as contribution formats. On March 30th, Dome facilitated 4K event #500, a Toronto Blue Jays game against the New York Yankees in Dome Pioneer, followed up with 4K event #501, a Toronto FC/ Real Salt Lake in Dome Trillium.  

Dome was the very first production mobile vendor in North America to broadcast in 4K, a Toronto Raptors game on Jan. 20, 2016.  On December 18th, 2017, Dome produced the very first live entertainment broadcast ln 4K HDR on DirectTV with the Brian Setzer Christmas Extravaganza show from Santa Barbara, CA.

The launch of Dome’s 4K production mobile trucks is a true testament to the skill and dedication of Dome’s engineering team, who have been instrumental in the system design, wiring, and integration of Dome’s growing fleet of 4K production trucks.

These technical milestones highlight a variety of broadcast innovations from Dome. This is also complemented by the company’s state-of-the art fiber network, which serves as the backbone for the transmission backhaul delivery and HEVC encoding from the 4K production mobiles direct to the broadcasters.
