The Players’ Tribune, Twitter Renew Partnership, Announce Second Season Of Live Content Series, #Verified

The Players’ Tribune (TPT) and Twitter announced the second season of the live series #VERIFIED, a show in which athletes connect directly with fans, in real time. #VERIFIED will be live exclusively on Twitter, driven by fan-submitted questions, featuring athletes sharing their insights, reactions and takes on important topics from both on and off the field. The new season will once again be presented by American Family Insurance and will feature some of the top prospects in both the NFL and NBA drafts, along with expanded content formats and enhanced creative treatments.

The series debuts today at the NFL draft with live Q&A’s from top prospects Josh Rosen (quarterback, UCLA), Minkah Fitzpatrick (cornerback, Alabama), Shaquem Griffin (linebacker, UCF), and host Victor Cruz (former NFL wide receiver). Additional episodes will air during the NBA draft in June, and will pair top basketball talent with an experienced NBA player as the host. Fans can watch on Twitter via @PlayersTribune.

“#VERIFIED has given fans the opportunity to engage with some of their favorite players through live, dynamic programming,” says Raphael Poplock, EVP of Partnerships and Business Development at TPT. “The show format is perfectly suited to amplify major events and moments in sports, so this will be a fun season as we work with some of the top prospects in basketball and football leading up to the drafts. We’re looking forward to building upon the success of the first season and incorporating new elements that will enhance the show, from including multiple personalities in the episodes — like hosts, family and friends — to bringing more compelling pre-taped segments to life.”

“We are thrilled to collaborate with The Players’ Tribune to continue connecting athletes directly to fans on Twitter,” says Laura Froelich, Global Head of Sports Partnerships at Twitter. “#Verified combines the power of Twitter and TPT’s athlete network to bring unique, engaging and exclusive live video from top athletes on the platform.”
