SVG College Summit: How ‘Mid-Majors’ Perform Video Magic With Limited Staffs and Budgets

Elon, Bowling Green, and D-III Carthage share their experiences as one-person bands in the sports media world

Schools of all shapes and sizes have seen their athletic departments become media companies within themselves.

At the 2018 SVG College Summit, reps from various smaller schools of key technology vendors share what tech and strategies are making it possible for those with the smallest budgets and staffs succeed. Learn how these content producers, some of which are one-person bands in their athletic department, make it all work.

The session included Mike Connell, President of Sportzcast, Michael Leopardo, Multimedia Production Coordinator at Bowling Green State University, Michelle Manzo, Coordinating Producer, Maroon Sports at Elon University; Richie Murray, a consultant for the tech vendor Blackbird; and John Voynovich, Webcasting Producer at Carthage College. The discussion was moderated by Chris Mycoskie, Associate Commissioner, Broadcast and New Media at the Southland Conference.
