2018 FIFA World Cup: More Than 20 Canon Techs On-Site in Russia to Provide Customer Support

At the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, a group of Canon engineers and service support personnel from various regions of world are on-site to help support the company’s customers at the International Broadcast Center (IBC) and in host venues’ OB truck compounds across the country.

For the Group Stage, two Canon techs will be at every stadium – over 20 techs in all.  In later rounds, Canon BCTV techs will support prime matches and have the ability to move around as necessary.

The service team will bring their tools and proprietary equipment to customers’ site (venues) for field support. As part of basic support and maintenance services, technicians can provide: consulting, reconfiguring set-ups, back-focus adjustment, performance inspections, and minor repairs on customers’ lenses. In addition, Canon Professional Services will be in the Media Centres / Photo working room at all the stadiums providing service, support, and loaner gear for still equipment.

Canon staff at the World Cup are fluent in English, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Portugese, French, German, and Dutch. CLICK HERE for contact info for Canon’s Broadcast Lens Service personnel on-site in Russia.
