MLB All-Star 2018

Fox Sports To Document 2018 MLB All-Star Week in '100,000 Cameras' Documentary

Fox Sports’ 20th presentation of the MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard on Tuesday, July 17 from Nationals Park will be chronicled through the lenses of 100,000 cameras and thousands of fans across the country.

As the best players from MLB’s American and National Leagues take the field in the 89th MLB All-Star Game, Fox Sports Films and Major League Baseball team to document the night in a way never-before-seen in baseball. 100,000 Cameras: MLB All-Star Game premieres Saturday, July 28 at 7:00 PM ET on FS1 immediately following the Cubs at Cardinals game.

The franchise, winner of two Sports Emmy Awards, incorporates fan-generated video from MLB All-Star Week to tell the story of the midsummer classic from every conceivable angle — illustrating how baseball connects people and communities at the ballpark and across the country.

The high-energy, highly produced special also features additional Fox Sports camera angles and content not seen in Fox‘s live broadcast of the game, delivering an unprecedented portrayal of the week’s events in Washington, D.C., including the Home Run Derby, from all perspectives until the lights go out at Nationals Park.

Fans everywhere are invited to tell their own MLB All-Star Week story by using their cameras and camera phones (record horizontally) to capture the event and the days preceding it (whether at the ballpark, at home, in a bar, etc.). Simply upload the videos to social accounts using #100KCams during the week and immediately following the game.

The hour documentary marks the fifth installment in the two-time Sports Emmy-winning franchise. Last December’s 100,000 Cameras: Ohio State vs. Michigan, the franchise’s fourth edition and first venture outside motorsports, earned the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Social TV Experience at the 39th Annual Sports Emmy Awards in May 2018.

The series also took honors for Outstanding Social TV Experience in May 2017 for its innovative use of fan, team, and driver-generated video to tell the story of the 2016 DAYTONA 500. Additionally, 100,000 Cameras: Talladega earned a Sports Emmy nomination in 2015 for its focus on the 2015 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega. The franchise debuted on FS1 in May 2014 with a fascinating look at the May 2014 NASCAR All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
