Daktronics Improves LED Displays for Swayze Field at the University of Mississippi

Daktronics has continued a long-standing partnership with the University of Mississippi to provide a new auxiliary display at Swayze Field and two new ribbon displays at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in University, Mississippi. The three displays were manufactured and installed this spring to bring additional visual aspects to Ole Miss fans.

“We always strive to maintain the best gameday experience in college sports, and these new displays provide our productions team with more opportunities to entertain and engage our fans,” says Ross Bjork, Ole Miss Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics. “We’re excited to once again partner with Daktronics on these projects, and we look forward to seeing the new technology in action this season.”

For baseball games at Swayze Field, a new auxiliary display measuring 18 ft. high by 27.5 ft. wide featuring a 13HD pixel layout was installed. It can show live video, instant replays, statistics, graphics, and sponsorship messages during any event. It is also integrated to work in conjunction with the existing Daktronics LED video displays at the venue to bring an enhanced experience for Ole Miss baseball fans, players, and coaches.

“These new displays add to the already great atmosphere for baseball and football games at Ole Miss,” says Andrew Rice, Daktronics sales representative. “Each new display brings another opportunity to connect with your fan base and bring them useful information or enhance their entertainment value, and I know these additions will capitalize on those moments for Ole Miss and their fans.”

Additionally, two new ribbon displays were installed at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on the east and west seating fascia. Each display measures 3.5 ft. high by 250 ft. wide and features a 15HD pixel layout to bring additional statistics, graphics, and sponsorship opportunities.

These installations add to the LED upgrades provided by Daktronics in 2016.
