SVG On Demand: NBC Sports Digital’s Eric Black on How Mobile Shaped Telemundo’s World Cup Streaming Success

Digital exec was also the chairman for the inaugural SVG Sports OTT Forum held last week in New York City

Telemundo enjoyed a wildly successful FIFA World Cup this summer, most notably on digital, logging huge viewership numbers on the streaming side.

SVG’s Jason Dachman caught up with Eric Black, CTO, NBC Sports Digital and Playmaker Media, which provided the backend support for all of Telemundo’s streaming offerings during the World Cup. They discuss the challenges and lessons learned on the company’s first World Cup.

Black was also chairman of the inaugural SVG Sports OTT Forum held on July 26 in New York City. He discusses his participation in the event and why he feels it’s important for those who work on the digital side of the sports-media business.
