NBA Digital Produces Documentary on International Players from Former Yugoslavia in ‘Something in the Water’

Something in the Water — NBA Digital’s latest installment under the banner of Players Only Films — showcases the tradition of talented basketball players making their journey to the NBA from the former war-torn Yugoslavia. The short form documentary — available now exclusively via Facebook Watch — illustrates the three-decade tradition of multifaceted stars from the former Yugoslavia, and its new republics, through the experiences of international phenoms Luka Doncic and Dzanan Musa.

In addition to following Doncic (Slovenia) and Musa (Croatia) as they prepared for the 2018 NBA Draft presented by State Farm, Something in the Water reflects on the lineage of former stars such as Drazen Petrovic, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc, and Dino Radja, who blazed the trail for international players in the NBA.

Both Doncic (Dallas Mavericks) and Musa (Brooklyn Nets) would go on to become first round picks in the 2018 NBA Draft.
