ESPN, Twitter Upgrade College Football Fan Experience With Tweet Cam, Digital Show
ESPN and Twitter kicked off the season with a new weekly show and social campaign that brought fans into the conversation and straight into the action.
During the first two weeks of ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, the Tweet Cam — a social campaign designed for both fans on-site and around the world — made its college football debut. The Twitter-powered camera was on the College GameDay set when the show aired live from South Bend, Ind., on September 1 as Notre Dame hosted Michigan. Powered by the hashtag #GameDayCam, the Tweet Cam will give fans the ability to get a glimpse of the action and atmosphere surrounding the College GameDay set. When a fan tweets with the hashtag during the show, they’ll trigger an on-site camera that will deliver real-time photos from the set back to them.
Additionally, ESPN’s new weekly show — The College Football Show Presented by All-State — also premiered this Saturday, September 1 to coincide with the kickoff of the college football season. Hosted by ESPN’s Jason Fitz and Treavor Scales, the show will recap the best highlights of the day and preview the biggest game of the week every college football Saturday throughout the season. Fans will be able to interact with The College Football Show through Twitter by accessing the live stream at 7 p.m. ET via @ESPN.
