wTVision Provides AR Graphics for French Football, European Championships

wTVision is managing the real-time graphics for Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, the two main professional leagues in France, guaranteeing the graphics operation of the most relevant competitions in Europe. In addition, between August 6 and 12, wTVision partnered with Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, to manage the augmented reality during the Long Jump, Triple Jump and the Long Throw competitions at the 2018 European Athletics Championships, in Berlin. Lastly, wTVision simplified its solution to fit everything necessary to perform the legal recording and ad placement validation of TV channels inside a single box, with easy maintenance and a ready-to-ship configuration.

French Football returns to wTVision’s sports family
The graphic information is generated through a solution that combines wTVision’s FootballStats CG and R³ Space Engine (real-time 3D graphic engine) in a partnership with beIN Sports, the official broadcaster of the competitions. FootballStats CG integrates the statistical data collected by STATS (the official data provider) and delivers the graphics in real time.

On every game, a team of wTVision specialists guarantees the graphics quality and efficiency, making sure fans all over the world get the right information at the right time.

wTVision’s unique operational capacity, developed with years of experience in football leagues all over the world, allowed the project to be developed and implemented in record time.

The French league joins wTVision’s vast portfolio of European competitions, such as the Portuguese, Spanish, and Belgian top football leagues. Determined to create the best experience for sports fans all over the world, wTVision has developed the knowledge to take on the operation for any kind of sport competition in every kind of environment.

wTVision provided Augmented Reality at the European Championships
For this major event, a team of eight wTVision’s specialists operated on site, integrating the virtual graphics system with the competition’s official statistics throughout all live operations, showing distances, results, previous marks, and world records.

Following a successful partnership with Atos at the 2017 European Athletics Team Championships, wTVision created an appealing virtual solution and developed the technical aspects of the operation to implement augmented reality into the broadcast.

For the Jump competitions, wTVision also provided AR³ Athletics — Jump Board, a software designed to generate augmented reality and developed specifically to demonstrate the distance to the board at the moment of takeoff.

The Led Screen solution, that replaced the traditional wooden ruler, was also developed by wTVision. Informations like jump distances, the athlete’s ID or the wind speed were displayed thanks to a dedicated software that intends to improve the experience of both viewers at home and at the stadium.

49 nations competed in Berlin and more than 40 broadcasters covered the Championships across Europe and worldwide, making it one of the most important competitions in the world of sport.

A new turn-key solution for legal recording
The system was designed to record a combination of SDI and HDMI input sources thanks to a breakout box option available up to 4 HDMI channels, that allows you to analyze your competition, providing HDCP supported inputs.

Recall is entirely managed via a user friendly web interface (for an unlimited number of sessions) to remotely control all the video and audio recording. Different types of users can login from anywhere to review content.

wTVision’s solution can export closed-captioning text embedded into the associated video clips and burn-in timecode with the associated video. Recall also allows you to trim clips at will and choose which audio channels to export.

Easy to deploy and immediately ready to use, Recall combines the necessary hardware and software to start you legal recording and/or content review straight away.
