DigitalGlue To Showcase New Systems on the creative.space Platform at Cine Gear Atlanta

DigitalGlue is spotlighting its //DEUS EX and //BREATHLESS systems from the recently launched creative.space platform, an entirely new concept in media storage, at the upcoming Cine Gear Atlanta 2018 show. Also on display will be practical and stylish media workstations custom-built to house creative.space systems, the result of collaboration between DigitalGlue and Studio 8 Furniture. The event will take place at the Pinewood Studios, October 6 -7, 2018.

creative.space, introduced earlier this year, is an On-Premise Managed Storage (OPMS) service comprised of various systems that target different applications and deliver superior performance at lower than cloud prices to allow collaboration without compromise. At Cine Gear Atlanta, the company will highlight //BREATHLESS, its system developed to target video production, VFX, and Content Distribution Networks with a 36-bay all-flash NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) drive packed into a 1U form factor. //BREATHLESS provides the capability to deliver 10 million random read IOPS of storage performance.

DigitalGlue will also showcase the //DEUS EX hybrid-architecture system purpose-built for uncompressed high-resolution workflows. Incorporating NVMe, SSD, and HDD, //DEUS EX balances high-performance solid state and spinning disk technology with a fully optimized internal architecture to provide seamless playback of demanding formats like 4K DCI OpenEXR.

“We are excited to bring our recently launched creative.space media storage platform to Cine Gear Atlanta,” says Tim Anderson, DigitalGlue CEO/CTO. “For more than 15 years DigitalGlue has been providing solutions that prepare our customers for the wild twists and turns the industry has experienced, and we’ve always exceeded expectations. Now, with the recent launch of our creative.space platform we’ve shattered the traditional storage paradigm and brought a totally new concept — and alternative — to market.”

Cine Gear visitors will also see creative.space housed in customized racks that furnish the core infrastructure necessary without a dedicated rack room. The racks allow creative.space to reside in the same room with one artist and connect remotely with (up to) 13 others. This keeps the media network separate from IT, simplifying the infrastructure needed to support a facility and minimizing the chances of an IT problem impacting the production timeline. The racks are the result of a partnership between DigitalGlue and Studio 8, a designer and manufacturer of integrated technical furniture.

“Our partnership with Studio 8 furnished the remaining piece — a physical fixture to deliver an elegant but practical storage package!” adds Anderson.

creative.space enhances collaborative workflows by optimizing the latest, most advanced hardware and software for efficiency and increased productivity via its OPMS. The all-inclusive solution is offered at a monthly rate based upon 1, 2, or a 3-year contract.
