fuboTV Appoints Hannah Brown as Company’s First Chief Strategy Officer

The company is growing its U.S. cable-replacement business and expanding internationally

fuboTV is adding its first chief strategy officer with the appointment of sports-media executive Hannah Brown. Effective immediately, Brown is based in fuboTV’s New York City headquarters and reports directly to co-founder/CEO David Gandler.

Hannah Brown will oversee development and execution of fuboTV strategy.

In her new role, Brown is tasked with all strategic development and execution as fuboTV accelerates its sports-first cable-replacement business in the U.S. and enters new territories internationally.

Brown brings to fuboTV 15 years of experience in corporate development, venture finance, and media-rights acquisitions through in-house roles and as a board member/advisor for global sports and media businesses. Since November 2017, she served as SVP, corporate development, at Relevent Sports Group, where she was responsible for executing and delivering development opportunities either via mergers and acquisitions or organic development.

Previously, Brown spent almost 10 years at Sky, most recently as head of business development, leading investment and partnerships with startup and emerging sports businesses. While at Sky, an early fuboTV investor, she was appointed a board observer for fuboTV.

Brown is currently a board member of BRC Group, a U.S.-based Hispanic soccer business, and InCrowd Sports and is also on the media advisory board of Drone Racing League. She was previously on the board of GINX eSports TV.

Expanding its leadership team further supports fuboTV’s continued efforts to differentiate itself as a cable replacement for the entire family. Successfully going head-to-head with major companies competing in the space, fuboTV became the first live-TV streaming service to launch 4K HDR beta in July, ahead of virtual MVPDs owned by AT&T, Alphabet, DISH Network, Hulu, and Sony. The company was also among the first vMVPDs to launch Cloud DVR, 60-fps picture quality, and in-app billing and was the first to fully implement SCTE 224 blackout-technology standards. Additionally, after several months of testing, fuboTV officially launched dynamic ad insertion in January, ahead of Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV. fuboTV also features more RSNs than any other vMVPD and is among the industry leaders in local broadcast coverage, with more than 500 channels now available, up from 66 in September 2017.

Brown began her career at KPMG, where she qualified as an associate chartered accountant (ACA) and worked across a range of businesses in the entertainment, leisure, and automotive sectors. In addition to her media career, she competed internationally in eventing (equestrian) and was long-listed for South Africa at the 2016 and 2012 Olympic Games.
