NAB 2019: G&D Showcases 1 Gb IP-Based KVM Matrix System With Pixel Perfect Transmission, Ultra-Low Latency
Guntermann & Drunck (Booth N3424) will be showcasing its’ new, 1 Gb, KVM-over-IP matrix switching system with pixel perfect transmission and ultra-low latency. The system enables highly scalable and flexible distributed switching of computer signals via standard IP-based networks and over existing network infrastructures. G&D’s new KVM-over-IP matrix switching system offers Broadcaster’s cross-system, platform-independent, operation, and extensive interoperability.
The fully IP based system consists of the ControlCenter-IP manager and the recently released IP extenders that form a powerful matrix to transmit KVM-over-IP. The system offers G&D’s customers ground-breaking new possibilities. By using standard, 1 Gb network components, existing or new IT structures can now be implemented and scaled easily with added design flexibility. Just as network infrastructure takes over the transport of IP packets, the ControlCenter-IP contributes the system management logic. Signal transmission is flexible via CAT cabling or optical fiber through standard, 1 Gb, layer 3, network switches.
Extending 4K over IP
The new G&D system for KVM-over-IP extends real 4K over IP and ensures pixel-perfect video transmission for DisplayPort 1.2 signals for resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. In addition to solutions for DP 1.2, the company also offers modules for DVI single and dual link as well as DP 1.1 with support for all common resolutions and utilizing G&D’s technologies for minimizing latency while still providing lossless images.
G&D’s matrix systems – powerful team players in broadcast applications
All of G&D’s matrix systems (Including our Classical Matrix offerings) offer a high degree of interoperability and can be optimally integrated into existing media or broadcast control and monitoring systems to ensure uniform operation and to bundle and simplify multi-level, complex workflow processes. At NAB 2019, G&D will present a real world, application with original broadcast equipment from renowned manufacturers such as Ross Video and BFE. With the help of G&D KVM systems, video servers and broadcast computers can not only be operated remotely, but input devices, mixing consoles, joystick controllers, live cameras and other devices can also be integrated – even when working on remote computers. This provides full access and control for all equipment in the workflow.
What else to expect at G&D’s NAB booth
Another product highlighted will be the DP1.2-VisionXG KVM extender, providing transmission of high-resolution, 4K and 8K video signals at 60 Hz – uncompressed and latency-free. The system supports 4K/8K resolutions up to 10,000 m via optical fibers and targets gaming, esports, and medical applications.
Additionally, the G&D KVM experts will showcase their new and exciting RemoteAccess-CPU at their booth. This product addresses the increasing virtualization of the broadcast workflow and provides answers to red-hot topics such as professional access to virtualization solutions for cloud editing and remote production. RemoteAccess-CPU will be available by the last quarter of 2019. The new modules can then be used to create hybrid systems with real and virtual infrastructures, allowing for highly intuitive system operation. Users simply select the source they need from a standardized overview regardless of whether the computer is stored in the server room or in the cloud.
