Major League Lacrosse Chooses Journey for Broadcast Transmission Services

Journey has entered into an agreement with Major League Lacrosse (MLL) to provide all broadcast transmission services for the 2019 season.

The MLL, a professional lacrosse league since 2001, is comprised of six teams nationwide and has extended its regular season this year from 14 to 16 weeks, culminating with its Championship Weekend in October. The league has a complex broadcast schedule of over 50 games airing on ESPN, Stadium, and Lax Sports Network on the national level, along with a variety of local and regional outlets.

With its ease of deployment, Journey was able to quickly and effectively integrate a wide array of new stadiums, production trucks, and broadcast outlets into its transmission network without a hitch. Journey is providing point-to-point transmission, as well as point-to-multipoint transmission for games airing on multiple outlets, with the added ability to cross-connect to fiber and other transmission mediums as required.

“Our sister company, D2 Productions, has supplied production support for the MLL for many years, so Journey is thrilled to now provide transmission support directly for the league,” says David Walzer, Journey’s President and CEO. “Our exclusive technology offers the perfect solution for cost-effective transmission with the high quality and low latency that the MLL requires. We’re honored to add the MLL to Journey’s growing list of satisfied clients.”
