Professional Fighters League Teams With DraftKings for First-Ever MMA Bracket Challenge

The Professional Fighters League is continuing its partnership with DraftKings, beginning with the 2019 PFL Playoffs Bracket Challenge presented by Presidente, the official beer of the PFL. An exclusive Pick ‘Em game will also be available for the 2019 PFL World Championship. While a $1 million prize awaits the PFL champion from each of the league’s six divisions, MMA fans will have two opportunities to earn up to $50,000.

DraftKings and PFL will also collaborate to produce an exclusive video content series which breaks down the playoff and championship matchups, and features analysis from MMA Hall of Famer Randy Couture, along with insights from industry-leading fantasy experts.

The 2019 PFL Playoffs take place October 11, 17, and 31 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. For the first time ever in the fight capital of the world, MMA fans will witness fighters fighting twice in one night to reach the 2019 PFL World Championship where six elite athletes will earn their divisional championship belts and $1 million prize.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with DraftKings and Presidente and create additional engagement opportunities for MMA fans ahead of and during our historic 2019 PFL Playoffs and Championship,” said Dan Ghosh-Roy, Chief Digital Officer of the PFL. “We know PFL fans are highly engaged and crave action with skin in the game. The PFL Playoffs Bracket Challenge with DraftKings will stoke fans’ competitive fire while giving them yet another reason to tune into our live ESPN2 and ESPN+ broadcasts and follow the PFL roster in the fight for one million dollars.”

The 2019 PFL Playoffs Bracket Challenge is free and easy to play. Fans will need to pick the winners of each quarterfinal fight, then pick two fighters from the overall bracket that they think will advance to the championship. Semifinal picks are worth double. The women’s lightweight playoffs on October 11 are semifinals only. All picks will have to be locked in before the fights begin, and a leaderboard will update rankings at the conclusion of each playoff round so players can see how they size up against the competition.

Each PFL playoff event will pay out $10,000 split equally among players with the highest total points. Players with the highest total points across all three fight nights will have a chance to earn up to $30,000. Entrants must be 21 years or older to participate.

The 2019 PFL World Championship Pick ‘Em contest is presented by Presidente. For each weight class, players will earn points every time they pick the outright match-winner, in addition to how a fighter won, in what round, and at what time they won. A leaderboard will update player rankings at the conclusion of each fight, and up to $20,000 of prize money is up for grabs. Additionally, DraftKings will run a social sweepstakes for a trip to New York and VIP ticket package to the 2019 PFL World Championship.

“PFL fans have proven to be extremely passionate and engaged, and we look forward to building on a successful launch from last year’s Championship with Pick ‘Em games for both the 2019 Playoffs and Championship,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings. “We are committed to providing our ever-growing community of fantasy players the most extensive sports offering in the industry. Being a part of the toughest nights in MMA is indicative of our effort, and we’re thrilled to provide fans with a new way to immerse themselves in the sport.”
