fuboTV Canada adds OneSoccer from MEDIAPRO Canada to Offering
Story Highlights
MEDIAPRO Canada has launched OneSoccer on fuboTV Canada, the Canadian arm of fuboTV, the leading sports-first live TV streaming platform. The partnership offers fuboTV subscribers access to the Canadian Premier League and Canadian Championship, Concacaf national team and club tournaments and a wide range of of Canada Soccer’s Men’s and Women’s National Teams qualifiers and friendlies, including Canada’s games in the Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, starting with tonight’s home qualifier against Honduras at Toronto’s BMO Field.
The agreement simultaneously expands MEDIAPRO Canada’s audience and makes fuboTV, which recently acquired exclusive Coppa Italia and English-language Serie A rights in Canada, the leading streaming platform for top-tier soccer in the country.
fuboTV is a virtual multichannel video programming distributor (vMVPD) operating in Canada, Spain and the United States. In addition to Coppa Italia and Serie A, fuboTV offers premium international soccer coverage, such as French Ligue 1, within its offering of sports and entertainment content.
“We’re thrilled to partner with MEDIAPRO Canada and integrate their popular OneSoccer streaming platform as a linear channel on fuboTV in Canada,” says Ben Grad, Senior Vice President, Content Strategy and Acquisitions, fuboTV. “Canadian soccer has been gaining significant international recognition in the last several years, including the recent Gold Medal win at Tokyo 2020 for Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team, so we’re especially excited to bolster fuboTV’s soccer offering with this partnership. fuboTV is now a top choice for local fans to stream domestic and international soccer at an affordable price.”
Oscar López, CEO of MEDIAPRO Canada, says the partnership is the next logical step in extending the reach of OneSoccer across Canada.
“Canadian soccer is scaling new heights thanks to the growing impact of the Canadian Premier League and the Canadian Championship, Canada Soccer’s professional club championships involving the eight CPL clubs, the three Canadian teams playing in MLS, along with the winners from Ontario and Quebec’s top semi-professional leagues,” says Lopez. “Furthermore, this partnership kicks off just in time for Canadian fans to watch live coverage of the Men’s National Team as they strive to qualify for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
With fuboTV, cord-cutters and sports fans alike can stream their favorite content at a fraction of the cost of cable TV. Every subscription allows simultaneous streaming on three devices and includes 250 hours of cloud DVR storage. A fuboTV subscription is C$15/month or C$50/quarterly or C$100/annually.
