NHL Network To Produce First All-Women Broadcast of NHL Tonight on March 22

For the first time ever, NHL Network will air an all-women edition of NHL Tonight – the network’s flagship studio show – this Tuesday, March 22 at 6:00 p.m. ET. Co-hosted by NHL Network’s Jamie Hersch and Jackie Redmond, with 2018 Olympic gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield as analyst, the program will feature live look-ins to the night’s games in action, analysis, demonstrations, and highlights. In each of the last four seasons, NHL Network has also aired an all-women edition of NHL Now, NHL Network’s daily 4:00 p.m. ET program.

NHL Tonight is an unscripted, free-flowing show in which we’re constantly bouncing around to different live games and reacting to the amazing action in front of us,” says Hersch “I’m excited to showcase our passion for and knowledge of the game in this style of a show. We’ll be hanging out, watching hockey together on NHL Tonight, just like always, but it just so happens that you’ll hear three female voices reacting to and analyzing the action.”

Tuesday’s program builds on NHL Network’s longstanding goal to raise awareness for women in hockey, which has recently included the IIHF Women’s World Championship, the “My Why Tour”, and NHL Now’s new “Jack and Paq” segments with Renee Paqette. Cammi Granato on becoming Assistant General Manager for the Vancouver Canucks, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson on participating in the NHL All-Star Skills competition in Las Vegas, and Daniella Bruce on being the first woman to broadcast for the Detroit Red Wings are a few of the additional segments that have aired on NHL Network this season supporting the National Hockey League’s Hockey is for Everyone initiative.

“I grew up with people constantly referring to me as ‘one of the boys’ and it was intended as a compliment, but I’m not one of the boys,” says Redmond. “I’m one of the girls and we like hockey too! So, I can’t wait to sit back, watch games, and talk hockey with two women I admire and show all the little girls at home that they don’t have to be one of the boys to love the game.”

In addition to NHL Networks on-air coverage, fans can follow along with all the Trade Deadline news live on Twitter Spaces via @NHLNetwork at 2:00 p.m. ET, with Mike Johnson, Mike Kelly, Jackie Redmond and Mike Rupp.
