Kevin Hilton began his journalism career in radio and counts among his few sport reports a piece in the early 1980s about the now English Championship league football club Plymouth Argyle. Moving into magazine work during the mid-1980s Hilton freelanced for a number of video software and music titles before becoming staff writer on Pro Sound News Europe. He later moved on to Broadcast Systems International before taking over the editor's position at Sound & Communications Systems. He went freelance again in 1993 and has written for a range of technology, broadcast and home cinema publications, including Television Broadcast Europe, Flipside, Focus, the Guardian newspaper, Audio Media and Pro Sound News. Hilton became www.sportvideo.org's Europe correspondent/editor in 2006 and while still not an ardent sports fan he finds some fascination in listening to people taking time out of their Saturday evenings to argue about football on BBC Radio Five Live.
