After a nearly seven-month absence, Versus has returned to the DirecTV lineup following an agreement between the satellite provider and Versus\u2019 parent company, Comcast.<\/p>\n
The two finally struck a deal after months of bitter fighting over Versus\u2019 carriage fees and programming tier. DirecTV, which boasts over 18.5 million subscribers, was unwilling to pay Comcast\u2019s proposed price increase from 21 cents to 26 cents per-month, per subscriber. On the other side, Comcast was upset over DirecTV\u2019s attempt to move Versus from a package of channels that reached the majority of its subscribers to a specialty tier that reaches just 6.3 million customers.
