O\u2019Halloran was a sports reporter for the Newport News Daily Press for three years from 2002 to 2005, where he covered the Redskins and Virginia Tech football. He was also a sports reporter for the Glens Falls (NY) Post-Star for two-and-a-half years and the Manhattan Mercury for two years from 1998 to 2000, where he covered Kansas State University athletics.
