Plato Named ESPN VP, Digital Video Distribution

Renee
Plato has been named vice president, digital video distribution by Disney and ESPN
Media Networks. In this position, Plato will oversee the growing
multiplatform distribution efforts of The Walt Disney Company and ESPN through
affiliate partner digital channels such as broadband, electronic sell through,
ITV, VOD, and other emerging technology platforms whose focus is digital
video. Plato will report to Matt Murphy, senior vice president, digital
video distribution.

“Renee Plato brings a fresh perspective to our digital distribution team,” said
Murphy. “Her background in the digital music distribution business will
provide experience and leadership as we continue to navigate the increasingly
important digital space.”

Prior to her move to ESPN, Plato was the senior director of business
development at Sony BMG Company in New York. She also served as the
director of digital business at Universal Music Group in Toronto, Canada.
Plato furthered her knowledge in the digital field during stints at MyThum
Mobile Interactive and Schwans Sales Enterprises.

Plato is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and will work out of ESPN’s
Cheshire, Conn. offices.
