Active Storage Announces mMedia, mRAID, and mVault Platforms
Active Storage has announced the mMedia Platform, a complete end-to-end workflow storage solution for post and broadcast production.
The mMedia platform centers around an enhanced ActiveSAN high-performance metadata controller applianc and adds mRAID and mVault for seamless management of complex media SANs.
With scalable performance and capacity, mMedia enables content producers to add components from Active Storage and combine them with workflow solutions tailored to individual customer needs. mMedia is a complete media creation storage platform for storing and managing content from ingest to archive.
Joining ActiveSAN as the ‘heart of the new media SAN’ is mRAID. The next-generation media-enhanced RAID platform is combined with the latest storage processing intelligence and developed from the input of the company’s user base.
It is a high-capacity, high-performance, and high-availability RAID storage solution engineered to handle the current and next generation of Intel-based storage processors, with a new cross-flow cooling system, high-speed bus between RAID controllers, multi-core aware software, and environmental processing engine.
Active Storage also offers a scalable media archive solution for large content creators and ‘owned content creators’ called mVault. mVault is a storage expansion component of the mMedia platform.
When combined with mRAID, mVault can scale to Petabytes of near-line content archive. Together, mRAID and mVault offer 228 Terabytes of storage in 7U.
