Andreas Loges Named CEO of Rohde & Schwarz

The managing partners of Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG and the DVS Board of Directors have appointed Andreas Loges as the company’s new CEO. Andreas Loges, former Finance Director of Rohde & Schwarz DVS GmbH (DVS), has been CEO of the Hanover-based company since December 15, 2013. He succeeds Dr. Peter Spoer and Dr. Hans-Ulrich Weidenbruch.

In 1985, Dr. Siegfried Beyer, Dr. Peter Spoer, and Dr. Hans-Ulrich Weidenbruch founded their own company, DVS, thereby laying the foundation for one of the leading vendors of digital video systems for the film, TV and post production sector. The company and its products have since gone on to win a host of industry awards.

6e04804cfbTo ensure the company’s long-term success, in 2010 the firm’s owners decided to integrate DVS into the Munich-based Rohde & Schwarz group of companies. By appointing Andreas Loges as the new CEO, DVS is keeping up its tradition of continuity and progress. As Finance Director, for 12 years he has been responsible for the finance department as well as for heading up the HR area. Andreas Loges represents the change from an owner-managed company to a group company which, together with the Munich-based parent company, is delivering countless strategic and operational advantages.

“We are confident that Andreas Loges will manage our subsidiary very skillfully and successfully,” says Juergen Nies, Head of the Broadcasting Division at Rohde & Schwarz. “We deliberately chose someone from DVS’s own ranks to fill this management position: Andreas Loges personifies the successful further development of DVS within the Rohde & Schwarz group.”

“I am really delighted with the confidence shown in me to continue the outstanding achievements of the DVS founders,” says Loges. “As the new CEO, I intend to make full use of all the opportunities offered by the Rohde & Schwarz group and continue to offer our customers groundbreaking products. It is important to me to further consolidate the position of DVS in the post production market and to develop the company into a successful player in the broadcast arena.”
