DPA Microphones Delivers Pristine Audio for World-Class Trumpet Player Luis Eric González

Luis Eric González is a seasoned composer, arranger, producer and world-class trumpet player whose diverse style ranges from Latin pop, jazz and salsa to RnB, classical and rock. Every time González enters the recording studio or takes the stage for a live performance, he strives to deliver an experience that all those listening will never forget. In order to create that memorable sound, he relies on DPA Microphones’ Instrument Microphones.

González started playing trumpet at age seven in his native Cuba. González is a graduate of the Institute of Arts in Havana, Cuba, where he performed and recorded not only with Cuba’s top popular bands, but for operas, ballets, radio and documentary films. González came to the United States in 1997 and since then he has toured and recorded with many artists, such as Don Henley, Gloria Estefan, Raul Malo, Lou Bega, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Tito Nieves, Eric Benet, Carl Thomas, Los Ilegales, Son by 4, Juan Gabriel and Joan Sebastian. González was also the former musical director of Celia Cruz’s Band.

“I first used DPA Microphones for an MTV Unplugged show in China in 2010 and they were unbelievable,” says Gonzalez. “I instantly fell in love with DPA and have been using them for live shows and studio recordings ever since.” González loves the flexibility he gets when using the 4099T for his trumpet. “It’s a wireless microphone that lets me play freely, but also allows me to hear the whole body of my trumpet. Every note, from the lows to the highs, sound exactly as intended.” González also credits the 4099T for delivering crystal clear, interference free sound.
“With other manufacturers’ microphones, I’ve had problems playing live because of the feedback,” says Gonzalez. “With the 4099 T, we attach it to our instruments and we can dance and move all about the stage without any feedback. It’s a special microphone for live performances and sounds great.unnamed-11
It’s powerful and unrivalled by anything on the market. In addition, because it’s so small, I can easily pack it in my suitcase and bring it wherever we are performing throughout the world.”
González plans on using DPA microphones on all future projects, including his upcoming album, Luis Eric Presents Cuban Therapy.
González began recording the Cuban and Latin funk jazzy album in November 2016 and is using DPA mics on all instruments, including percussion, piano and horns. He also plans to use DPA miss during all his upcoming live performances, with his group Bayalo.
