CSN Philadelphia Promotes Michelle Murray to VP of Content

CSN Philadelphia announced that veteran sports media executive Michelle Murray has been named Vice President of Content. The announcement was made by Brian Monihan, President and General Manager of CSN Philadelphia.  In Murray’s new role, she will lead the network’s comprehensive portfolio of multi-platform content including news and digital media, including online, mobile, and social assets.

CSNPhiladelphiaMurray, a veteran news, sports and entertainment programming executive, was previously Vice President, News Programming for CSN Philadelphia.  Since joining the network in 2005, she has overseen all areas of CSN’s Emmy-Award winning news programs including SportsNet Central, Philly Sports Talk, as well as all pre and post-game programs, and specials. Under her leadership, CSN Philadelphia has been awarded the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award six times.

“Michelle is the perfect person to lead us as our business continues to evolve and we better align ourselves to deliver compelling content to our fans across multiple platforms,” says Monihan. “She has a proven track record of leadership and vision as we move forward in the ever-changing media landscape.”

Prior to joining CSN in 2005, she formed the newsrooms for the launch of SportsNet New York in 2006 and Comcast SportsNet Chicago in 2004, and served as news director for both networks.  She also served as acting news director at WCBS-TV in New York City, where coverage of the 9/11 tragedy aired nationally on CBS affiliates and earned an Edward R. Murrow award.  A Philadelphia native, she is a graduate of the University of Hawaii.
