The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that one of its latest Scientific and Technical Awards will go “to Dr. Klaus Anderle, Christian Baeker and Frank Billasch for their contributions to the LUTher 3D look-up table hardware device and color management software.”
The three dimensions, in this case, refer to three color axes, yet another use of the term 3D in our industry to refer to something other than the sensation of spatial depth.
