How to Recycle Your Old TV
Story Highlights
By Michael Silbergleid
First off, if you have a functioning television, many thrift stores, including Goodwill, will accept it… even if it’s analog.
Best Buy has a nationwide electronics recycling program:
They’ll take just about anything electronic (and I assume that means professional gear as well–although most major broadcast equipment manufacturers have a recycling program), including TVs, DVD players, computer monitors, cell phones and more. You can bring in up to two items a day, per household, and most things are absolutely free. However, there is a $10 charge for TVs 32″ and under, CRTs, monitors and laptops — but Bets Buy will give you a $10 Best Buy gift card to offset that cost.
