SVG, Variety To Roll Out Red Carpet for Sports Entertainment Production Summit on Jan. 25 in L.A.
The Sports Video Group and Variety will take over the Luxe Hotel in Los Angeles on Jan. 25 for the Sports Entertainment Production Summit, bringing together leaders from both the sports and entertainment worlds to delve into the latest developments in production, technology, and operations in both industries. Registration for the Summit is now open!
In the world of 24-hour sports coverage and larger-than-life athlete personalities, it has become nearly impossible to differentiate sports from entertainment, and entertainment from sports. Each year, SVG holds two Sports Entertainment Summits: a production-focused event in January and a business-oriented event during the summer. The Production Summit on Jan. 25 will focus squarely on the equipment, technique, and philosophy being deployed in the quickly converging sectors of sports and entertainment production.
The event will feature keynote speeches by Ross Greenburg, founder of Ross Greenburg Productions and former president of HBO Sports, and Jim Steeg, director of the Pac-12 Championship Game and former NFL head of Special Events. In addition, the event will offer panels addressing the staging, staffing, and technology involved in halftime shows, opening and closing ceremonies, remote-based studio shows, reality shows, and more. The event will also explore the latest trends in pre- and post-game and live sports-entertainment production.
The SVG Sports Entertainment Summit is co-chaired by SVG Advisory Board members Jeff Jacobs, VP of production planning and strategies for MTV, and Jack Simmons, SVP of production for Fox Sports.
The Summit will be held at the Luxe Hotel on Sunset Boulevard just off the I-405 (11461 Sunset Boulevard).
