Adtec Digital, Encompass Digital Media Team Up for MLB Network’s All-Star Coverage

Adtec Digital announced its partnership with Encompass Digital Media to exclusively provide compression solutions for MLB Network’s coverage of the 2013 All-Star festivities to take place in New York City on July 15-16, 2013, including compression, multiplexing, and decoding for MLB Network’s exclusive telecast of the MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show.

“When Encompass was awarded the distribution services for MLB Network at the All-Star Game, it was essential to select a strategic partner with a proven track record. Given MLB Network’s technical requirements, Adtec was the perfect choice to fulfill all of the compression service needs,” states Greg Jennings, vice president of Transportables and Production Services of Encompass.

Kevin Ancelin, SVP sales and Adtec Digital Co-Founder explains the configuration of systems in place, “We will have 10 HD paths from Citi Field [for MLB International’s All-Star Game world feed production] and four HD paths from Bryant Park for the MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show. Multiplexing will be done by the DTA-3050 and transmission will feed the live broadcast globally. Two dozen Adtec RD-60 IRDs will be used between both locations to provide broadcast quality confidence decoding of the local compression and for return paths from the studio to the event.”
