Live Media Groups Adds Two Mobile Units To Meet Entertainment-Programming Demand
Live Media Group (LMG), a full-service live-entertainment–production company based in Los Angeles, has expanded with two refurbished HD mobile units intended to meet rapidly growing demand for coverage of the Live Nation/Yahoo 365 concert series and the upcoming Yahoo! On the Road music tour.
Both trucks are 40-ft. units and formerly served as live-streaming facilities for college sports. After a two-month renovation, they each contain new Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite cameras, an Avid S3L Live audio system, and Miranda monitor wall.
LMG’s relationship with Live Nation and Yahoo! was a major driver of investment in the new units. Previously a production house that rented its mobile facilities, LMG has seen client content demands grow so precipitously that building its own lineup of trucks simply became necessary. With these two additions, the company now has three 40-ft. HD units and a 16-foot truck.
“We’re growing by the minute,” says President/CEO Brad Sexton. “At the volume of work we’re producing, it was a simple decision to add these two units to our fleet to help provide security of delivery to our clients. On any given day or night,” he adds, “Live Media Group is producing multiple events. Owning and controlling our equipment has allowed us to deliver 100% success on the Live Nation/Yahoo 365 campaign and provide television-quality broadcast day after day.”
The Yahoo! On the Road music series is a massive undertaking, with LMG producing at least a concert a day for the next 300+ days. The onsite team, headed by Executive Producer/VP, Production Operations, Ian Dittbrenner, is made up entirely of LMG personnel and talent and travels across the country producing the shows in the concert series.
“We are a fully turnkey operation for Live Nation,” says Sexton. “We are excited to be producing a tremendous amount of content, and these trucks are going to help us meet our demand from coast to coast.”
The new trucks have already produced several shows, including Daughtry, David Gray, and Young the Giant. A big date on their schedule is a Lady Antebellum concert this week.
