Belmont University Enriches College Experience with Shure
With a rich music education background, Belmont University turned to Shure when it decided to upgrade its audio equipment. Scott Munsell, Belmont’s Lecturer of Audio Engineering Technology, chose to install Shure ULX-D Digital Wireless with handheld transmitters to optimize the school’s learning environment and equip performance venues with a rock-solid wireless system.
Scott and his team selected ULX-D for a number of intended uses. Of note, they wanted a system that they could use for instruction in the classroom, the university’s showcase concert series tryout productions, and for other concert productions carried out by student production teams. ULX-D met each of these requirements. Offering uncompromised audio quality and RF signal stability, ULX-D provides students and sound engineers with the control needed to manage musical showcases of all calibers. Additionally, the receivers’ Dante digital networking integrated seamlessly into the University’s Dante equipment and workshops as well in other facilities on campus. Shure Wireless Workbench software not only served as an outstanding teaching tool for a number of classes, it also provided live scans to help discern what channels were in use or available.

Both the teaching and learning capabilities are expansive. Given ULX-D’s rock solid performance, we’ve even used it in the school’s Columbia Studio A, a historic recording studio on campus.
