Bleacher Report Enjoys Record Engagement For NFL Draft Weekend

It was another record-breaking year of engagement at the NFL Draft for the digital sports media giant Bleacher Report (B/R), with the B/R app registering its best weekend on record with more than 250 million content engagements over the three day stretch from Thursday to Saturday.

That engagement is a 36% increase in page views for the app, beating the previous best single day mark that was set on July 1, 2018 when LeBron James announced he was signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Of little surprise, the most buzzed about topics on B/R revolved around quarterbacks, specifically the selection of Kyle Murray at #1 by the Arizona Cardinals and the surprising pick of Daniel Jones by the New York Giants at #10. The most-visited individual team streams on the app during the course of the Draft were the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and the San Francisco 49ers.

B/R also made a strong showing on its social channels on the weekend, leading engagement rates for all sports combined across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to the tune of 85 million video views. That’s up 16% from the same weekend on which the NFL Draft fell last year. According to a B/R representative, 28 Million of those social video views cam from B/R’s NFL Draft coverage alone.

Added interactive features could also receive some credit for the pike in engagement this year. These record numbers come following the recent Instagram integration that allows B/R app users to share content directly to their Instagram Stories feed.
